Public Notice of Final Action for Medicaid Reimbursement of Medication-Assisted Treatment in Opioid Treatment Programs

The South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) gives notice of the following actions regarding Medicaid-reimbursable services for Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) in Opioid Treatment Programs (OTPs) under the State Plan under Title XIX of the Social Security Act Medical Assistance Program (Medicaid).

SCDHHS will increase reimbursement of weekly bundles of MAT-Methadone and MAT-Buprenorphine. SCDHHS is making these changes to support access to medical and behavioral health services and ensure services are delivered effectively for all eligible members.

Based on the actions above, SCDHHS anticipates an annual budget impact of $922,000 total dollars.

Any written comments submitted may be reviewed by the public at SCDHHS, Bureau of Policy, 1801 Main Street, Columbia, South Carolina, Monday through Friday between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
